Brick Corner BGC: The Garlic Naan That Made Us Order Three More, Curry So Rich We Forgot It Was Just Lunch

Sometimes the best lunches are the simplest ones. No long walks. No art installations to decode. Just a table, good food, and people you like. Brick Corner in Burgos Circle gave us exactly that. We sat down, ordered what looked good, and ended up in a full-blown Indian food moment. The garlic naan was buttery and charred. The mutton curry was so rich we forgot we had meetings after. And yes, we ordered extra bread. Multiple times. This is the story of a lunch that felt less like a break and more like a reward.

🎨 OG ART WALK: Giant Woven Balls and Modern Towers

Large woven sphere sculpture installation along BGC High Street with modern buildings and willow trees in background

Before we even hit the restaurant, BGC does its usual "let me distract you with art" thing. This giant woven sphere sculpture sits right along Burgos Circle, looking like someone took an entire forest and rolled it into a ball. "Very Instagrammable." I took pictures anyway because that is what you do in BGC — pretend to be cultured before you stuff your face.

The willow trees sway, the modern towers loom, and we walk past it all thinking about naan. Priorities.

🍽️ OG FIRST IMPRESSION: When the Details Speak

We sit down. The table setting arrives. And there it is: BRICK CORNER printed right on the napkin in a clean circle logo. No fancy gold foil, no pretentious design — just confident branding on cotton. The spoon and fork are polished, the woven placemat adds texture, and the whole setup says "we care about the small things."

I whispered to myself, "This is a good sign." "The naan better be good." Spoiler alert: it was better than good. It was dangerous.

πŸ«“ OG BREAD: Garlic Naan That Should Come With a Warning Label

Fresh garlic naan bread cut into quarters in woven basket, topped with minced garlic and green onions

And then it arrived. The garlic naan. Fresh from the tandoor, still steaming, cut into quarters like a pizza but ten times more dangerous. The surface is dotted with minced garlic and green onions, the edges are charred just right, and the whole thing smells like heaven decided to become bread.

We tore into it like wolves. Soft, buttery, garlicky — the kind of naan that makes you forget you are in the middle of a business district. One piece turned into two. Two turned into "we should order another basket." By the end of the meal, we had consumed enough naan to feed a small village. No regrets.

πŸ§€ OG GRILL: Paneer Tikka That Actually Tastes Like Fire

While we were busy attacking the naan, this showed up: grilled paneer tikka on a golden plate, charred at the edges, served with red onion rings, a lemon wedge, and that green mint chutney that adds the perfect fresh kick.

The grill marks are perfect. The seasoning is on point — smoky, spiced, with a hint of tang. And when you dip it in that green sauce and wrap it in naan? Game over. My colleague said, "This is what lunch should be." I was too busy chewing to respond, which is basically a five-star review.

πŸ› OG CURRY: The Rich, Dark, Dangerous Stuff

And then the main event: this dark, rich mutton curry that looks like it has been simmering for hours (it probably has). Garnished with ginger strips and a cilantro leaf, sitting in a white oval dish like it knows it is the star of the show.

The texture is thick, the color is deep mahogany, and the flavor? Complex, spiced, with a heat that builds slowly. This is the kind of curry that makes you understand why Indian food has conquered the world. We scooped it up with naan. We scooped it with rice. We basically scooped it with anything that could hold it.

πŸ₯€ OG DRINKS: The Pink Thing We Did Not Question

Somewhere between the second naan order and the third curry scoop, a pink drink appeared. Was it a lassi? A smoothie? Some kind of rose milk situation? We did not ask. We just drank it. It was cold, it was sweet, and it cut through the spice perfectly. Sometimes the best decisions are the ones you do not overthink.

✨ OG VERDICT

Brick Corner in Burgos Circle is now on our office lunch rotation. The garlic naan is addictive (we ordered extra). The mutton curry is rich and flavorful (we ordered extra rice). The paneer tikka is perfectly charred (we ordered extra everything). And the best part? It is literally a five-minute walk from our office — no long detours, just straight to the good stuff.

Would we go back? Already planning it. Next time, I will try the biryani. And probably ordering three baskets of naan. No shame.

Quick Tips:

  • The garlic naan is a must-order — get extra
  • Mutton curry is rich — share with the table
  • Lunch rush hits around 12-1 PM, arrive early or late
  • OG Navigation: Burgos Circle, 29th St corner Rizal Drive — 5-min walk from most BGC offices
  • Street parking on 29th St works; Burgos Circle parking is limited
  • Save room for dessert (or do not, the naan is filling enough)
  • Ask about their daily specials — they rotate
